‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6:6-8‬ ‭Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.

Some people spend before they have, others spend everything they have and still others save before spending.

The Bible teaches us to be wise with our increase: we learn to give, to save and to invest. Those things we can learn from the smallest of creatures: the ant. The ant stores in one season and uses it in another. Joseph acted like this when he was overseeing the nation of Egypt during a hunger pandemic. He had them store and save during the good years, so they could spend and eat during the bad years.

Some nations are still learning these principles – to their detriment. When they do not save in the good years, they should not be surprised when lack surpasses overflow in the bad years, nor ask those for help who did save. Rather, they should have saved before spending.

Churches should save for the future of their posterity. Church buildings can only be bought when churches learn these principles and teach them to their congregations. In this way, every season can be traversed in a wise and prosperous way.

God loves us. That is why he teaches us his principles. Read the book of Proverbs, apply its teachings, and it will go well with you. Wisdom always wins!
