Genesis 45:5 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.
Joseph had an attitude. A God-attitude. Where many in his shoes would have said, ‘I will kill all my brothers because they sold me as a slave’ or ‘it is because of them that my life was ruined’, Joseph had a completely different outlook.
He saw that it was God who had sent him to Egypt. This is amazing, cause wasn’t it the brothers who had mistreated and sold Joseph? Wasn’t it because of them that Joseph was thrown into a pit and had to do slave labour? Yet Joseph said, “it was God”.
Did God sell Joseph? Did God mistreat him? No. But it seemed that Joseph had pre-read Romans chapter 8 verse 28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Joseph knew that it was God who turns a mess into a message.
Joseph knew that God can make the best soup from the worst ingredients.
Joseph lived from the bigger picture. Whatever what was meant for harm, God used it for good!
When you are being mistreated, rejected or even sold as a slave. You can know that there is a God who is in control. Stay faithful and never run away from Him. He can do a lot with a little. He will turn your mess into your message, if you do not give up.
