Deuteronomy 20:3-4,8 ‘and shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, you draw near this day to battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint; do not fear, or tremble, or be in dread of them; for the Lord your God is he that goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’ And the officers shall speak further to the people, and say, ‘What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go back to his house, lest the heart of his fellows melt as his heart.’ (RSV)
“O _________[fill in your name in the blank], you draw in victory to battle against your enemies.”
We live in a broken world where we face constant battles that try to draw us away from God such as our thoughts, life difficulties, sin and more. However, no matter the pain you are facing today, do not let your heart faint, do not fear or tremble for the LORD, your God is with you.
Jesus already fought your depression, anxiety, loneliness and pain. Therefore, acknowledge God’s presence in your life and know that you already have victory over all the lies of the enemy.
Deuteronomy 20:8 also highlights the importance of surrounding ourselves with people who trust in the Lord. For when you are in a battle, and you surround yourself with people who don’t trust in Jesus and live in fear, then their fearful hearts will melt your heart.
Draw closer to God and to people who trust in Jesus.
Remember, Jesus has given you victory over everything!
