Jesus, our sacred garments.

Leviticus 16:3-4 This is how Aaron is to enter the Most Holy Place: He must first bring a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. He is to put on the sacred linen tunic, with linen undergarments next to his body; he is to tie the linen sash around him and put on the linen turban. These are sacred garments; so he must bathe himself with water before he puts them on.

The presence of God was found in the Holy of Holies place and only priests were allowed to enter that holy place. However, there was a specific time and dress-code for priests to come to God’s presence, lest they would also die.

Aaron was given the right to be in the Holy place just as many of us, we have received many rights as children of God; but without wisdom, we can turn our rights (given by grace) into curses.

Because God’s presence is Holy, Aaron wore sacred garments that made him holy in the eyes of the Lord. Now today, we praise God for sending Jesus because He is the only way to the Father. We don’t need sacred garments anymore for Christ Jesus is the mediator between God and mankind.

Since we have access to God 24/7, we don’t have to wait for one year to make atonement for our sins like the People of Israel. Every day is an opportunity to be fully clothed with the Lord Jesus Christ, and go in the presence of the Father.

You can start now:
Please forgive me God, for I am a sinner in need of your grace.
