Rebellion

Numbers 16:11 It is against the Lord that you and all your followers have banded together. Who is Aaron that you should grumble against him?

Rebellion is an act of resistance to an established government or leader. Moses and Aaron were established leaders by God. Korah, Dathan and Abiram became insolent and rose against Moses’ leadership even though they already had their responsibilities in the tabernacle. It is essential to be grateful for whatever position God provides us because our blessings are found where God wants to use us.

Moses and Aaron were both appointed by the Lord. Therefore, the Levites’ rebellion was an act of disobedience against God. God was not happy with Korah, Dathan and Abiram insolence; as a consequence, He punished 14,700 people who died because of their rebellion.

Rebellion is triggered by pride and we all rebel against God in many ways. For instance, when we don’t follow God’s commandments and live according to our own desires is a form of rebellion against God statutes.

The good news today is that because of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, our rebellious acts are restored by repentance and submission to God.

Whatever you have done, you can turn to Jesus today through this prayer!

Prayer of the day:
God, I repent from my rebellious behaviours. I pray that I may take the yoke of Jesus and learn from the word of God for you are gentle and humble in heart, and you will give me life and rest.
