Ephesians 4:16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. (NLT)
When Paul talks about the body of Christ, he means the church, which is a group of many individuals united by the good news about Jesus Christ.
A united body of Christ serves one Lord (Jesus Christ) in one faith and baptism by one God.
However, sometimes Christians confuse the oneness with “doing the same things”. The church can’t function if everyone is preaching on the pulpit; that would be chaos because God uniquely created us and gave us special gifts for a specific purpose.
God wants to use our individual gifts to keep us united in the Spirit and to bind us together with peace, for there is one body led by one Spirit of God. When everyone in the body of Christ is exercising their gifts in the Lord, then every individual will be able to contribute to the growth of a healthy church full of love.
Thoughts for the day:
What is one thing keeping you away from uniting with the One Body of Christ? It is time to let it go!
Let’s stop with comparison, and instead cultivate our uniqueness in the Lord to serve Jesus and others better.
