With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. (2 Thess. 1:11)
Deeds are much more important than many have come to realize. Although we are not saved by deeds, it is only because by our deeds that we can reach the lost. If no one goes, who will be reached? If no one speaks, who will hear? Someone has to go, someone has to speak. In other words, someone will have to do something. In fact, all of us need to do something.
Two thirds of the word God is “go”! On top of our going and doing God will pour out His enabling grace and power. Paul says that God will bring to fruition our every desire for goodness and our every deed prompted by faith.
When we bring our best, God will do the rest. Let your deeds not just be any deeds, let it be deeds prompted by faith. Faith deeds go much further than what we can do in our own strength.
What is a prompt you have received from the Holy Spirit lately? Have you acted on it?
