Romans 1:16 NIV For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. 

Did you know that the sun has power in itself? There is no little man on a bicycle on the sun’s surface, trying to pedal really fast to give the sun its energy. The sun has so-called “inherent power”, power that lies within itself. By this power, we have life on earth.

Likewise, the gospel is the power of God. In other words, there is inherent strength prevalent within the gospel by which people will be saved. If only they hear it. This is a great verse for preachers. And a great verse for disciple makers!

If you consider yourself a preacher or a disciple maker, read on. All that is needed for people to get saved is that we simply bring the good news, as it is. It is not by our oratory skills or our level of education. Just bring the gospel, for it itself is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone that believes it.

When asked to share the good news, do not worry ‘what will I say?’ Cause if you just bring the good news, the good news will prove its inherent power.
