Matthew 7:11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Some people have trouble believing that God is good. This can have several causes. Maybe we have been told God is an angry old man who watches our every move from heaven. Or we have a negative image about God based on the image of our earthly dad. Or we believe that because something bad happened, it must be God’s will.

What such thinking does, it confuses and reverses two truths. The first truth is: God is good. The second truth is: life can be bad. Some people reverse these two. They think: life is supposed to be good, therefore if something bad happens, it must mean that God is bad. What we need to realise is that sometimes life is bad and all the time God is good.

God is good and can only do good things. Respect that, expect that and receive that, as His dearly beloved children!

God, I thank You that You are good and You do only good. Forgive me for listening to voices who have told me otherwise. I choose today to believe that You are only good. Therefore I am going to expect only good from You. You are a good heavenly father who blesses me beyond my wildest dreams. I am Your child, and I will receive good gifts from You! Thank You!
