See the light

Psalm 36:9 For with you is the fountain of life;
    in your light we see light.

What is the Biblical prerequisite for leadership?

According to Jesus, it is sight.

The one and only time Jesus spoke about leadership, he did this in the context of seeing: “Leave them. They are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)

Jesus said: do not let the blind be your guide. Who are the blind? Those who do not believe in Jesus:

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Cor. 4:4)

Who do we as Christians listen to? Where do we find guidance? Where do we find light? Isn’t it amazing and shocking how many Christians still listen more to what the media is saying, than to what the Bible is saying? The media is generally governed by those who are blind. Unless they are believers in Jesus, they are by Biblical definition, ‘blind guides’.

There are only two ways of looking at life: either we interpret the world, through the lens of the Word. Or we interpret the Word, through the lens of the world. What are you seeing?

It is only in His light and His words, that we see light.
